Please Note: As of July 1, 2010 the Leonbergers will have been placed into the AKC Working Group. With this move, the LCA is no longer able to issue points for any wins in conformation, obedience or rally until the LCA has filed with the AKC to hold sanctioned matches. The filing of such a request requires a minimum of 26 weeks prior to the show. Since our August show is only 6 weeks after entry into Working Group we are unable to award any points for this show. Look forward to our spring show when our club will hopefully host our first AKC sanctioned show hosted by the LCA.
The show will be in the Argus Ranch arena, which is an enclosed building with a
very fine bark surface. There’s lots of room for crates and such; please bring your own chairs, crates, X-pens, tarps or
blankets and whatever else you think you might need.
Pre-registration is now required. No day of show entries will be permitted.
Pre-registration is preferred, but we will continue to permit day of show entries (they just won’t be listed in the catalog).
The Veteran’s Parade is open to any Leo who is 7 years of age or older by the date of the show. Please complete and submit a dog-entry form for your Veteran even if he/she is not entered in any other event, then complete and submit the Veteran & Rescue Dog Form with a very brief statement (300 characters maximum) about your Leo.
The Rescue Parade is open to any Leo who has come to his/her forever home through Rescue. Please complete and submit a dog-entry form for your Rescue Leo even if he/she is not entered in any other event, then complete and submit the Veteran & Rescue Dog Form with a very brief statement (300 characters maximum) about your Leo.
We are unable to arrange for professional photographers at our shows due to limited utilization of them by attendees in the past and tough economic times. An amateur photographer volunteer will be available once again to take winner photographs for publication in the LeoLetter and on the club website, and to share with the winner. Neither the Club nor the volunteer amateur photographer makes any warranties, express or implied regarding photographers or photographic results. If you are looking for a specific photo resolution, or some other special details, please plan on making your own arrangements for a camera/photographer. Thanks for your understanding.
The Super-Raffle on Saturday is one of our biggest fund-raisers, and we can’t do it without you! Please remember to bring something for the table. Our raffle has become the envy of many regional clubs with our many quality items.
The success of each show depends largely on the many people who put in a little extra time and effort to make it all happen. There are many, many ways to help and it’s a great way to get to know your fellow Leo Lovers. To sign up, please contact Lori Taft, or (360) 435-2026.
Thinking of breeding your dog? Make an appointment to have your dog’s BACL done at the show. A limited number of appointments are available on a first-come, first-served basis so make your reservations early. To make BACL arrangements, contact Mary Decher by e-mail (please put “BACL” in the Subject line), or by phone at (425) 885-1305.
On Friday evening we will again have a wine and cheese potluck party at Argus Ranch. Of course chips and beer or any other appetizer and beverage are fine too. If you can, please bring an appetizer to share and your own beverages. We’ll uncork around 5:00.
As always we will be having our famous post-show potluck on Saturday night; please come and join in the festivities. It is a wonderful time, everyone is welcome, and the food is always incredible. Bring a dish and beverage to share if you can (a full kitchen is available for preparations) and celebrate another Leo weekend with us.
