join us for the LCNW 2010 Summer Regional Specialty

Hello!
You are all invited to attend the Leonberger Club of the Northwest’s August Specialty, “All You Need Is Leo Love”. Held at Argus Ranch, in Auburn WA on August 20th through the 22nd, the show is sure to be a smashing good time!
We will be holding two LCA style shows on Saturday and Sunday. On Saturday we have John Feehan, a Kennel Club judge who will have flown from the United Kingdom to evaluate our dogs. John formed his Manorguard Kennel in the 1980s with several other working breeds and imported his foundation Leonbergers into the UK in 1991. His Manorguard line has been instrumental in the breed in the UK with most of their lines having his prefix within the pedigree. John has been awarded the top Leonberger Breeder in the UK nine times and owned the first UK Leonberger champion. John will also be providing us with a short Leonberger seminar on Saturday evening – surely something you won’t want to miss!
On Sunday we are pleased to have Pat Hastings as our conformation judge. Pat has been involved in the dog world since 1959. She began her career as an owner-handler, moved into breeding, then teamed up with her husband in professional handling. She is currently an AKC judge of the Herding, Non-Sporting Groups and Working Groups; Junior Showmanship; and Best in Show. She has articles published in a wide variety of dog magazines and is the author of “The Puppy Puzzle."
Our Obedience/Rally judge will be Carolyn Wray. She has been involved in dog training since she was a child; training a dog to earn her first CD while still in grade school. She has experience with a wide variety of breeds, having trained Keeshonden, Shelties, Doberman, Pekingese, and Poodles. She has even obtained a CDX on her Pekingese, Wraynbow Unique.
Of course we will also be host to our usual antics including a rather full and entertaining Pee Wee class - who wants to miss the Chinese Crested or the Pug running around the ring with a bunch of Leonbergers and children? Saturday morning, we’ll also be holding our Summer Veteran’s Parade as well as adding a Parade of Rescues, so come prepared to applaud. After Saturday’s show we will hold our Annual Meeting and election of officers and draw for the raffle - the prize table is always loaded with a range of treasures from huge jugs of dog treats, to Peggy Atchley’s fudge, to books and even wine. We will also be having our amazing Potluck on Saturday evening so come hungry! CGC Testing will be available on Sunday morning as well.
Conformation and Obedience/Rally aside, the friendship, camaraderie, and everyone’s love of the Leonberger is always the highlight of our shows. We of the Leonberger Club of the Northwest are eager to meet our old friends and to make new ones.
